Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Check this page to see if your insurance agency questions/inquiries can be answered quickly from the list of the top website questions we've been asked in the past.

Q: How long will it take to build my insurance agency website?

A: The time to build a professional website is dependent on the number of pages on the site, the time it takes for you to provide content, and the amount of work involved in the actual design. Our insurance agency package designs take, on average, 5-10 business days. Some websites may take longer, based on your personal needs. Custom site designs can take up to 90 days to complete. After we discuss your needs we can give you a better estimate on how long it will take us to create your website.

Q: What is the cost of having a professional website built?

A: Please see our design Pricing page for details. For custom sites you can fill out this order form and we will send you a quote in two business days.

Q: What are your payment terms?

A: We require a 50% deposit and the remaining 50% upon completion of the project.

Q: Do you provide the text / content for the website?

A: Generally we do not provide the content for an insurance agency website. Clients generally know more about their product than we do and have a good idea about what they want to present on their site. However, we do have a copywriter on staff and can prepare your content based on information you supply.

Q: What will you need from me in order to get started building or reworking my insurance agency website?

A: After we agree on and sign a contract, you will need to provide the items required by your contract. Generally, you need to supply website content/text, logos, photographs, original artwork owned by you or your company and biographies.

Q: Do you create images/logos?

A: Yes, we have graphic designers on staff who can create your logo design. We also have a gallery of images you can choose to use on your website, or we can create new images for use on your site.

Q: What is web hosting?

A: The web host is a computer or server that stores your website information. Web hosting is that space along with the management of that space on the computer.

Q: Will ITIS work with me if I have another professional website hosting service?

A: Yes, but it is much simpler for us to work on your site if you host it with us. Our insurance agency hosting prices are very competitive, especially when purchased with one of our other design products.

Q: What is a domain name?

A: The base web address for your insurance agency website (e.g. www.mywebsite.com).

Q: What does "free domain name" mean?

A: It means we register your domain name for one year for free.

Q: What is a domain transfer?

A: If you already own a domain name, it is registered with a company, your registrar. A domain name transfer moves control of your domain name from the current registrar to new hosting with ITIS.

Q: What is website maintenance?

A: Website maintenance at $55/hour involves textual changes to your insurance agency website after you've approved or signed-off on the site or that portion of the site. Or, if we did not design your website, it is textual changes to your existing site. We can make other changes to your site, as well, but these are charged at a higher rate, depending on what you would like to change. Click here to go to our Website Maintenance page.

Q: What is a Content Management System (CMS)?

A: A CMS is simply a professional website design created with areas that are easily editable by the client (you). This saves you money on Website Maintenance (see above). If you often make textual changes to your website, you may want to consider a CMS. We only provide Content Management Systems with the websites we design, as the creation of them is part of the design process. Click here to go to our CMS page.

Q: What is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

A: Search Engine Ranking Optimization or SEO improves the volume and quality of the visitors that reach a website through organic (also called natural) search results--or improve a website’s organic rankings on a search engine. The higher your insurance agency website ranks on a search engine, the more likely the person searching will visit that site. In other words, if your business relies on having potential clients find you on the World Wide Web, the best way they will find your business is through Search Engine Ranking Optimization. We DO NOT USE black-hat SEO tactics, only the highest caliber SEO methods are employed through our programs. Click here to go to our Search Engine Ranking Optimization (SEO) page.

Q: What sort of custom programming do you offer?

A: Many of our insurance agency clients want websites that are more than just mere advertisements inviting your prospects or customers to call or email the agency via an online quote request form.

We can develop custom programming to enable your website to take applications, quote, rate and underwrite, deliver policies, or any other application you desire. We can also develop online prospect management and customer service solutions which are unique to your operation. Click here to go to our Custom Programming page.
